1. Scope
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and describes how we handle the personal information of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Where this notice differs from the general Privacy Policy, this notice controls for California residents.
2. Personal information we collect
In the prior 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:
- Identifiers — name, postal address, email, IP address, account user name, order ID
- Customer records — phone number (when provided), billing address, shipping address
- Commercial information — purchase history, cart contents, items considered
- Internet activity — browser type, pages viewed, referrer, session interactions
- Geolocation — approximate location derived from IP, used for tax estimates and inventory routing
- Inferences — interest categories used to suggest related products
Sources, purposes, and retention are described in the Privacy Policy.
3. "Sale" and "share"
Under California law, “sale” has a broad definition and can include data exchanges that don't feel like a sale in plain English. “Share” refers to cross-context behavioral advertising.
Wehoz does not sell personal information. We don't share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't need to — our business is selling products, not retargeting you across the web.
If our practices change, we'll update this notice and offer an opt-out before the change takes effect.
4. Your rights
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share
- Access a copy of your personal information in a portable format
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements
- Opt out of any sale or share (we don't do either, but the right is yours regardless)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't use sensitive PI beyond what's strictly necessary for the Service)
- Non-discrimination — exercising any of these rights won't affect the prices or service you receive
5. How to exercise your rights
Email privacy@wehoz.com with the request and your account email.
Verify — we may ask for a small amount of additional information to confirm your identity before honoring a request. We won't use that information for anything else.
Authorized agents — you may designate an agent to make a request on your behalf, with appropriate written authorization.
Response time — within 45 days, with a possible extension of another 45 days if we tell you why.
6. Global Privacy Control
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically. If your browser sends a GPC header, we treat it as an opt-out of any "sale" or "share" — across the Service, on every page, every visit.
You don't need to send a separate request. GPC is the request.
7. Sensitive personal information
We collect a small amount of sensitive personal information — primarily payment information processed by Stripe, and account credentials. We use these only for the purposes for which they were collected (processing your orders, securing your account). We don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
8. Children under 16
We don't knowingly collect personal information from California residents under 16 for the purpose of sale or share. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.
9. Changes
We'll update the Effective date above when this notice changes. Material changes are announced by email if you have an account.
