Setting minimum advertised price (MAP) floors

How MAP floors work on Wehoz — per-GTIN or per-product, enforced at publish time against third-party seller listings.

title: Setting minimum advertised price (MAP) floors description: How MAP floors work on Wehoz — per-GTIN or per-product, enforced at publish time against third-party seller listings. topic: brand-help order: 21 updated_at: "2026-08-07" tags: [brand, map, pricing, enforcement] related: [authorized-resellers, brand-registry-overview, report-a-listing]

An approved registry can set MAP floors, and Wehoz enforces them mechanically: a third-party seller listing priced below your floor is blocked from publishing, with a message that names the floor.

Setting a floor

From your registry in the brand dashboard, add a MAP override with:

  • A GTIN (8 to 14 digits) — covers every listing of that exact product, regardless of seller, or
  • A product ID — covers a specific Wehoz catalog product,

plus the floor amount. GTIN-based floors are usually the right tool: they follow the product, not one catalog entry.

How enforcement works

  • At publish time, each variant's price is checked against any floor matching its GTIN or its product. Below the floor → the listing is blocked with a map_violation message quoting the floor.
  • If multiple floors match the same item, the highest floor applies.
  • Floors require your registry to be approved, and they apply to third-party marketplace sellers.

What MAP floors do not do

  • They don't reprice anything already live. A floor you add today gates publish attempts from then on; an existing listing that's now below your new floor isn't automatically changed or removed. For a live listing you believe violates your MAP policy, file a report.
  • They don't apply off Wehoz. This is a listing-publication control on one marketplace, not a general pricing agreement with sellers.

Your responsibility

A MAP floor is a pricing restraint on other businesses, and pricing restraints carry legal weight. By setting floors you're representing that you have a genuine MAP policy for the brand and the authority to assert it. Wehoz provides the mechanism; the policy behind it — and its legal soundness — is yours. If you don't actually operate a MAP program, don't set floors here.
