An approved registry can maintain a list of the sellers authorized to carry its brand. What that list actually does depends on your registry's enforcement mode — read this part carefully, because the modes differ a lot.
The three enforcement modes
| Mode | What happens when a seller lists your brand |
|---|---|
| Allowlist | Sellers not on your authorized list are blocked at publish. They see "the brand owner has restricted this brand to authorized resellers" and cannot go live. |
| Admin review | Listings aren't blocked, but every one is routed to Wehoz staff review before going live. |
| Open | No reseller gating. Any approved seller may list the brand; your other tools (MAP floors, reporting) still apply. |
The enforcement mode is set by Wehoz during registry review, not self-selected in the dashboard. If your registry's mode doesn't match how you want your channel run, contact help@wehoz.com — allowlist mode is generally tied to the strength of your verified trademark claim.
Managing your list
From your brand dashboard, open the registry and manage authorized resellers:
- Add a seller by their Wehoz seller handle (the slug in their store URL,
wehoz.com/sellers/their-handle). Ask your resellers for theirs. - Revoke a seller at any time. Revocation is recorded with a timestamp; the seller's future publish attempts for your brand are then blocked in allowlist mode. Revoking does not automatically take down listings that are already live — for an existing listing you believe shouldn't be up, file a report.
Additions require the registry to be approved.
What this power means — use it straight
In allowlist mode you are materially affecting other businesses: a seller you don't list cannot publish your brand on Wehoz. Two expectations come with that:
- Keep your list current. If you authorize a distributor's downstream sellers, add them — "blocked but actually authorized" disputes land on you.
- The list controls listing publication on Wehoz. It is not a general legal determination about who may resell your goods, and Wehoz doesn't arbitrate first-sale disputes through it.
Sellers who believe they're wrongly blocked are told to contact the brand — that's you. Expect those emails, and answer them.
